Houlihan & Co offer their support to various registered Charities from Client run events to achieving personal ambitions to help sections of society less fortunate than ourselves.
Emma Pursey – 100 Miles in September
I’m taking part in 100 Miles in September for Help for Heroes and your contribution will make a huge impact to the lives of wounded veterans. Whether you donate £5 or £500. Every little bit helps. Thank you for your support.
David Wood – London Marathon
I am proud to be supporting the British Liver Trust by running the 2021 October London Marathon. Having personally seen the effects liver disease can have on a family, I hope you will donate what you can to provide support to others affected by liver disease.

Marathon Walk and the Oxford Half-Marathon
Over the next few weeks, I will be taking part in two endurance events to hopefully raise lots of money for two small, but amazing charities – Action for A-T and Nerve Tumours UK.
On Sunday 26th September, I will be joining a big group of friends to do the Surrey Hills Marathon Walk and then, three weeks later, on Sunday 17th October, I will again be undertaking the Oxford Half Marathon.
Massive thanks to everyone who has sponsored Cath and Me for the Marathon. Your support is hugely appreciated and definitely going to a good cause. We started training for the Marathon in December 2019 and its been a bit up and down since then but now its time to get on with it. Definitely looking forward to the finish line on the Mall.

10 Peaks in 10 Hours – Brecon Beacons
On Saturday 10th July 2021 we’ll be taking to the hills to conquer 10 Peaks in 10 Hours in the stunning scenery of the Brecon Beacons. It’s going to be a challenging day, with what we suspect will be less than ideal weather conditions (it’s in Wales after-all!) and a huge 34km to hike, with an epic 1695m of ascent!
We’d like to ask you to support our adventure by sponsoring us. All amounts are greatly appreciated and help to make a real difference to the lives of vulnerable young people.
CALA NHC – Running for Samaritans
The work Samaritans do is more crucial at the moment whilst we are in ‘Lockdown 3.0’. Many people are feeling isolated this year due to social distancing and travel restrictions. They may have lost a loved one to coronavirus or feel anxious about the current circumstances. Samaritans provide a 24-hour helpline, 365 days a year, to lend an ear to those who feel they have nowhere else to turn. To visit their donation page click here.
Scott Dunbar – London Marathon April 2020
In the summer of last year one of my good friends Michael aged 37, passed away after being diagnosed with Bowel Cancer less than a year before which was absolutely devastating, leaving behind his wife Hannah and his 3-year-old son Arthur.
Michael was a great bloke who lived life to the full, loved keeping fit and had a passion for running. On several occasions, he applied for the London Marathon but was never successful.
In his memory and to raise awareness and money for this great cause, I decided to apply for the London Marathon along with 4 other good friends and his wife Hannah.
Before applying, I can’t remember the last time I have ran more than 5k, so the thought of 26.2 miles was a daunting challenge. Training hasn’t exactly gone to plan as I got a stress fracture on my foot before Christmas. With only 12 weeks I am back training but now need to start getting some miles under my belt.
Any help to achieve our combined team target of 15k, and words of encouragement when you see me would be greatly appreciated.
Millions of people. Friday 13 December 2019. The greatest day of the whole entire year.
Wear a silly jumper and get every single person you know to do the same! Then donate £2 – it’s for the kids, people!
Together, as one awesome team, we’ll be changing the actual future! Awesome.
We’d like to take the opportunity to thank you again for donating a prize to our charity raffle that was drawn on 15th November. The evening was a great success and we hope to arrange more charitable events like this soon.
With your generous contribution, we were able to raise an amazing £4,315.00 for St Francis Hospice.
I’ve made the somewhat ridiculous decision to run the London Marathon next year. I’ve chosen to run for Prostate Cancer Research Centre which is a charity close to my heart as my Grandad passed away in September after being diagnosed with Prostate Cancer 4 years ago. .
TML Golf Day 2019
5 years ago we lost a key member of our team here at Thames Materials to cancer and decided to start the Sheila Melvin memorial golf day in her memory and choose one new charity each year alongside the Lynda Jackson centre that helped Sheila and family greatly in her time of need.
In the 4 years we have raised upwards of £200k which has been amazing and thanks to all who have helped us get there.
In March 2019, we launched a two-year partnership with Macmillan Cancer Support. Macmillan is a charity that provides emotional, physical and financial support to cancer patients and their families. Over the course of our partnership, we’re aiming to raise at least £200,000 in much needed funds.

Dragon Boat Race For 21 Together
This Sunday I along with some of our amazing young adults with down syndrome from 21 together are doing a dragon boat race and I need to raise £300.
I would like to take this opportunity to personally thank you for your attendance and participation at the CALA golf day on Friday 6th September.
The day was a complete success with everyone enjoying the wonderful golf facilities and wearing a broad smile throughout the day. As the Construction Director for CALA NHC, I was especially proud that you have helped raise such considerable monies for our charity and you made it our best golf day yet.
Your kind donation during the evening of £3000 was overwhelming and I cannot thank you enough for your generosity on behalf of the Isabel Hospice.
CALA Homes NHC – Charity Golf Day
The aim of the day is to raise funds for the Isabel Hospice which is a local charity providing support and care to adults with life limiting diseases. Founded in 1982, the hospice delivers the highest possible quality of life for each patient through dedicated staff and volunteers at the patients’ homes or one of their day care centres.

A huge thank you to all those who have kindly donated to the Just Giving page, the running total as I type is £9,275.00 which is a fantastic result for SNAP. SNAP’s aims are to inform, encourage and support parents, allowing them to grow in strength and knowledge so that they are better equipped to give the best possible help to their children.
Crest Nicholson – Top Gun Pair at Goodwood
Just to let you know that yesterday’s experience was absolutely amazing!
The weather initially wasn’t looking great but eventually both ‘Dead Meat’ (myself) and ‘Extra Meat’ (Keeley) got the go ahead!
We flew up to about 3,000ft and proceeded to experience up to 4.5g and 0g, barrel rolls and engage in pursued ‘combat’.
For the record I connected more ‘shots’ but my re arranged internal organs couldn’t take anymore and I was forced to make use of all facilities, including the pre packed sick bag zipped in the lower part of my flight suit.
All in all, a bloody good day! Thank you once again!
School Workshop Donation
